¨ Born and raised in the small town of St. George, SC, Brett became fascinated with magic in 1976 when he received a magic kit for his 10th birthday.
¨ For 30 years, Brett has been performing, practicing, teaching, creating, writing, building and marketing his original style of magic.
¨ He began performing at birthday parties, family reunions and other local events at age 12. His performance was a full stage act featuring professional illusions, including an entire routine using his white doves.
¨ Brett was awarded his first copyright for an original magic trick at age 13 by the U.S. Library of Congress.
¨ He spent 4 years in the 1980’s studying sleight-of-hand magic with Frederick Anthony Moore, a personal student of 2 of the greatest close-up magicians in history, Dai Vernon and Tony Slydini.
¨ Over the years, Brett has performed at countless functions and venues, including conventions, trade shows, corporate parties, theatres, restaurants and hotels.
¨ Brett co-authored “Mind-Bending Bartending”, a book and lecture series that teaches bartenders how to entertain their bar patrons with amazing magic.
¨ He conducts private lectures on sleight-of-hand theory, technique, performance, philosophy and rehearsal for magicians and magic enthusiasts.
¨ Brett is a member of the world’s most exclusive magical society, the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
¨ Brett was voted “South Carolina Magician of the Year, 2005” by the Holy City Magic Conference.
¨ He was named “Most Creative Magician of the Year, 2006” by the elite Roundtable Magicians Society, where he currently serves as President.
¨ Brett provides private, personal instruction to magicians who want to take their magical skills to a higher level, and to beginners who wish to learn the art.
¨ He served as editor and contributor for 2 books on magic which have received rave reviews from the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. These books are currently being sold to magicians around the world.

¨ Brett worked for 19 years as a Nuclear Physicist for the Dept. of Energy,
Dept. of Defense, and the private radiochemistry analytical industry.
¨ He is registered with the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists.
¨ Brett is a member of the National Health Physics Society.
¨ He is the Founder and Director of the Charleston Backgammon Society, and was named “South Carolina Player of the Year” for 4 consecutive years by the nation’s largest Backgammon association.
¨ Brett is currently writing a comprehensive book on the probabilities and strategies associated with the casino dice game, Craps.

Hi! My name is Brett Meyer, and I’m a professional magician in the Charleston, SC area. I specialize in
close-up, sleight-of-hand magic. Unlike stage magic, close-up magic is performed for small groups of people at a time. That way, everyone gets to experience incredible magic right in front of their face! I can easily entertain any size group (up to several hundred people) by strolling through the crowd, entertaining as I go. This style of magic is not only more intimate and impressive than stage magic, it is also perfect for almost any event!

Over the last 30 years, I have developed my own unique style of performance, blending stunning visual magic with clean humor, to create an amazing experience that people
will not soon forget!
I am also accepting weekly bookings for restaurants, resorts, hotels, lounges, etc.
*I do not do children’s parties. Although children enjoy my magic, my material is more
geared toward adults. I do not perform with live animals, nor do I twist balloons.
