Take Two
Take Two is one of Charleston's finest jazz duos, featuring Dave K. (upright and electric bass) and Stephen C. (tenor and soprano saxophones).
Together, they have developed a unique jazz sound and style representing some of the most classic jazz artists and composers including Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Cole Porter and George Gershwin.
Stephen is from the Boston, Massachusetts area with a Music Education degree from Boston University (1977) as well as advanced jazz saxophone studies with saxophonist John Payne. Past playing experience includes private events, jazz clubs (most recently in Mass. with the East Street Jazz Quartet), top 40, and concert band work. He also has past experience as a public school music teacher and a private saxophone instructor.
Dave is from Bethesda, Maryland and has been playing bass for over 25 years.
