Travis Allison Band

video by Jeff Bradt Video LLC

Charleston, SC

The Travis Allison Band’s soulful three-part vocal harmonies, piano, organ, electric and acoustic guitars,  harmonica, drums and bass fuse to create a live Americana rock n’ roll show like no other…and one helluva good time!   The TAB blends a variety of original material with choice cover tunes at over 150 shows a year along the eastern seaboard.  NO PARADE, the fourth original studio album, was released on Nov. 9, 2004.  MP3’s from all the albums and live shows can be heard at the website.  Their music is used by MTV for shows including “Making the Video,” and “Undressed.”

Travis Allison – piano/organ, acoustic guitar, harmonica, vocals
Ben Marks - drums
Patrick Norris – electric and acoustic guitars, vocals
KB Reidenbach
– bass, guitars, mandolin, vocals

Press:

§         “Like a young Springsteen…the band has something that sets it apart from most of the bar-band competition—songs. Real songs. Not just party anthems or thinly disguised cover tunes, but fully realized and often ambitious songs”               -Mike Joyce, Washington Post

§         “Now it seems the Travis Allison Band will be the next rockers to break out nationally.  As strong as the music is, however, it’s the message behind the music that make TAB something more.  Ultimately, TAB offers a rare combination of get-on-your-feet-and-dance fun and keep this one in the changer depth.”                                                                                                                                         -James Currie, On Tap Magazine

§         “TAB has been cranking out it’s own melodic and sophisticated brand of rock ‘n’ roll and has a way of touching heart and head equally.  Allison is no imitator and his supporting players add a depth rarely heard in acoustic rock circles… rooted in strong melodies and intelligent, telling lyrics.”                                                                                                                                              -John Harper, The Virginia Pilot

§         “A great live show...Allison has achieved a very professional pop/rock sound...energetic and well-executed, both instrumentally and vocally, as he deftly switches between guitar and piano while blending seamlessly with the other musicians who comprise his band.” Creative Loafing Magazine

§         “Allison has found a winning equation crafted in vivid storytelling, strong vocals and catchy music. Shawnte’ Salabert, Charleston City Paper

Patrick,

Blair and I wanted to send you and the other members of the band a HUGE thank you for making our wedding reception a wonderful event! Not only did we thoroughly enjoy the band and all of your great music, but so did our friends, parents, grandparents, and every other relative/guest at the reception. I cannot tell you the number of compliments we received about yall - you were the talk of the night (other than me of course :)!

We especially appreciate your learning 2 new songs just for us - it really personalized the music for us. Your renditions of the Meters' "Aint No Use" and SCI's "Smile" were great - and a huge hit with us and our friends. We were concerned about our wedding music, as we feel that a "typical" wedding band tends to be on the cheesy side, but yall were exactly what we wanted - a non-cheesy wedding band!! (Who knew one existed?!) We were very impressed and pleased with yall's talent and energy throughout the evening.

We would be happy to recommend your band to anyone, and please feel free to share our words and contact information with anyone seeking a reference. We wish you and the rest of the band continued success in your musical endeavors!

Thank you again,

Bevin and Blair Googer

Hi Patrick, We've not been back too long from the honeymoon, but I am going to be sending you all a formal letter of thanks. For now this will have to do.

I just want you to know that my husband and I were hoping our wedding would be one that everyone would always remember and just have fun at. We got that and more. We've been married for 6 weeks now, and people cannot stop talking about how much fun it was and how great the band was. We have heard more remarks about the band than anything else.   I cannot praise you enough.

We did not give you any play lists but you could tell from the crowd what would get everyone going. I am so glad I went with my gut choice and I can't thank you enough for making our wedding so special. A fun thought...The next morning we went to say goodbye to some of our friends and they were limping they had danced so much.

We will definitely be hiring you again for a party! I will send you some pictures. Thanks so much for everything!!!   Jennifer DiPasquale

Andy – the Travis Allison band could not have been better.  They were perfect.  They were so nice, friendly, and they sounded awesome too.  They were very easy to contact, and were easy to work with.  I didn’t want to leave!  All of my friends and family raved about them too – and everyone was dancing, and thoroughly enjoying the music.  They played all of our favorite songs, and they helped make our reception a perfect party.

Thank you for your help with them – I will refer Travis Allison to anyone who asks, or even if they don’t ask!!!

Thanks again-

Travis, y'all were awesome! Your band was really everything I envisioned and more for the wedding and the whole feel I wanted to create...it was just perfect. THANK YOU for doing such an incredible job! Please tell your band thanks too! I can't tell you how many people told me how much they enjoyed yall and how much they enjoyed something other than the "typical wedding band"....you knew when to play what and I'm just sorry I couldn't be out there from the beginning so I could have heard everything...what a small world that you and Bobby did have a connection after all through David Warren. We really will come see you play anytime you are in Charlotte or nearby...we'll bring a crew with us too so be sure to let us know. I hate that I never got to come give you a hug and thank you...or even meet you and introduce myself! Although, I'm sure it wasn't hard to figure out I was the bride! I hope y'all had fun too! Jekyll is just such a special place! Thanks again and send me your schedule when you get a chance. I'll email you before we come to Charleston this summer to see if you're playing...oh, and thanks for sticking some slower songs in there toward the end for my parents!

Hi Hank,

Travis and the band members were fantastic. Just as we had hoped they were able to cover an array of different taste. Most importantly,  the groom was thrilled with their ability to do Widespread Panic justice. The groomsmen commented that this was the first time they had danced to a Widespread song in a tux. My daughter and husband were thrilled and the dance floor was jammed all night.  They were great. Thanks for sending them our way.

I want to thank you so much for playing at the reception. I knew you would be good, but I was extremely pleasantly surprised at how great you were! Ya'll kept our crowd constantly moving on the dance floor, you followed our song selection recommendations and really had a feel for what the audience wanted. I also want to thank you for learning Chairmen of the Board's "Give me a little more time." It is one of Vanessa and my favorite songs and your version of it was great. A lot of our friends told us later how much fun the reception was, and mentioned without fail that our band was "The best wedding band they had ever seen." My father is a huge music lover, musician, singer and beach music enthusiast and his quote was "That’s the best party band I've seen!" I can't give you a better compliment than that. Again, thank you for coming down to Savannah, the fact that we didn't have to worry about band set-up or take-down or sound and lighting was a relief during an otherwise hectic day.

Hey Andy! The Travis Allison Band was great. It was just what I wanted - I was thrilled I went with my gut on this one. Tyler thinks it was the best wedding music he has ever heard and I got lots of similar compliments from guests. I thought Matt Hills (remember him?) was going to wet himself when they started playing a Grateful Dead song and then followed up not long after with a Phish song. I had emailed Travis before the wedding and gave him some songs I did want to hear and some bands I liked to hear and he did a great job with that. We tried to get them to come and hang out at the after-party - Catherine Jennings even gave them the directions - but they didn't show. I can imagine they didn't want to hang out with a bunch of randoms. :)

All in all, a wonderful experience. You were super helpful and great to work with. Speaking of Catherine - I hear she and Will are working with you for their wedding. I'll be making the trip to C'ville for that one. She was so surprised to hear that so many of us had worked with you (Jeff Richman and Sean Fogarty were both at the wedding too). Small world! :)

Anyway, thank you again for all your help. Once things settle down a bit I fully intend to send a note to the band to thank them for doing such a great job.

Talk to you soon,
Allison Snodgrass HORTON :

You and your band made both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding even more wonderful! Your music choices were perfect and we obviously enjoyed ourselves.
