Threshold
 

Based out of the beautiful, small town of Fort Mill, SC, Threshold has become one of the Southeast’s most highly regarded and successful acts on the entertainment circuit today. With many years of experience and hundreds of engagements under their belts, they know exactly what it takes to entertain any gathering regardless of the occasion.

Threshold can provide the production needed for any event... from a small Country Club dance or wedding reception that needs minimal sound and lighting, to an outdoor festival or civic center-sized corporate event that needs sound and lighting for 15,000 people. With up to 120 lights and a brand new state-of-the art sound system, no function is too large or too small!

Threshold is equally comfortable and compatible with events ranging from festivals, fairs, private parties and corporate events to weddings, night clubs, college parties, proms and much more.

We don't just provide entertainment….We create it!!

There's something that's not tangible about what we do. It's the creation of a feeling...an energy or maybe a vibe. And managing that vibe is one of the hardest things to do.

Anyone can manage the task of simply speaking on a microphone or playing music but when we do it right everybody feels the difference.

There's a difference between a band that simply plays music specifically for your dance floor and a band that is engaging, that interacts with your guests, pays attention to your guests and the direction of the energy to make your reception all that you hoped for.



From making sure that you are lined up correctly for the introductions to making sure the Best Man and Maid of Honor are prepared for their toasts.

To make sure the photographers are in the right place for the special events that you choose.

We make sure that all those little details that you never see get taken care of. So you just see a nice transition from one event to the next.

We want to take the time to get to know you and find out what you are looking for.

And find out what makes you different.

Because no two weddings are alike nor should they be.

So we want to find out what makes you different so we can tailor everything that we do around what you're looking for.

Not only do we have a state of the art audio system we also have variety of lighting options. Venues and customers like our new Yamaha LS9-32 set up. No more bulky cables running across the floor for guests and staff to trip over. The console is set up side stage and we run sound wirelessly with an iPad. The iPad that's in the picture below runs our Virtual DJ Program and the MacBook Pro runs our moving lights, front stage lights and all uplighting for the event.






From dance floor lighting to uplighting to customized monograms that project your name in lights on the day that you get married.

This is one of the best ways you can use your resources to really customize your event and create the vibe you are looking for.

Our greatest thanks is when your guests come up and tell me what a great time they had.

MEET THE BAND
 

Jamie Lee Lead singer, founder, and leader of the band.  

Before the formation of Threshold, Jamie sang a wide variety of music ranging from Gospel to Top 40 to Rock to Country. This variety has influenced the song list selection greatly to include a little bit of various styles of music. Jamie also scored six singles in the Billboard Top 100 Singles Chart as a solo artist.

  
   
 

Larry Smith (aka Chip) Guitar/Vocals

Chip started working with part-time party bands at the age of  9. He eventually went on the road full-time at age 21 and played in such local favorites as Brice Street and Stratus.  Chip has opened for acts such as Cheap Trick, Tom Petty, Boston, The Eagles and many others. 

 
   
 

Don Hamrick Drums

Don has been playing music professionally since age 13. Don is a graduate of Winthrop University with a degree in music and has toured with such groups as The Clovers and Billy Scott and the Prophets.  Don has also appeared as drummer for Bill Haley and the Comets in the CBS movie, “Shake, Rattle and Roll”.

  
   
 

Steve Busbin (aka Hollywood) Bass guitar/Vocals

Hollywood comes from a mainly Blues/Rock background and is considered one of the most talented and versatile musicians in the area.  His vocal abilities are a huge asset to the group, as is his sense of humor.

  
   
  Andy Gilliland (aka Sheriff Andy) keyboards/vocals

Andy is the newest member of the band and hails from Rock Hill, SC.  Andy has been very active in the local music scene for several years running a recording studio and playing in favorite regional  acts such as Calvin & Friends.

Trey and I want to thank you and the other members of Threshold for an incredible job you did at my February wedding reception. Our night could not have been more perfect. After all of the pre-wedding planning, the bride really doesn’t want to worry about anything on her wedding night, including what the music will be like and whether people will enjoy it. And that’s exactly how I felt. I enjoyed every song, and the dance floor couldn’t have been more full. I also appreciated your openness to whatever the guests suggested. A groomsman was able to sing his favorite song at the microphone, my sister was able to sing a few songs along with the band, and Threshold played our beloved “Sweet Home Alabama”. We were glad our singing didn’t scare you off. But it wasn’t just the younger people on the dance floor. Some of our older guests truly enjoyed dancing to the fun beach music and oldies. To be honest, they showed us younger folks up.

Many of our friends have described the night as “Great”, “Fun”, “A Total Blast”, and “The Best Reception” they had ever been to. This is exactly the effect we wanted our reception to have, and it would never have been like that without Threshold. I cannot thank you enough. I would like to thank Threshold for their role in making my daughter’s wedding on March 20 very special. The band’s performance at the wedding reception at Bermuda Run Country Club was truly outstanding. Everyone and I mean everyone (300+) had positive comments about Threshold.

The band’s incredible talent and variety of music made for a great evening of entertainment. The dance floor was full all night. People were dancing that hadn’t danced in years. I honestly had not heard Threshold live until the day of our wedding--and WOW did they impress! I had listened to their sample music and read a lot of their great reviews and I was convinced that they were the band I wanted to play at our wedding reception. Our event was held at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, and the band was willing to play great music during our plated dinner (their dinner music is highly recommended), which was great for us. We had so many compliments just during dinner! Afterwards, the real music began to play and I did not leave the dance floor the entire night!
