Carolina Dancers

Hank & Evelyn have been teaching C&W line dancing together for over 17 years.  Hank started teaching in 1980 and became the dance instructor and leader for the Carolina Dancers.  Hank & Evelyn were married in 1988 and Evelyn started following Hank to all of his classes and helping out.  (It was the only way that she could spend any time with him.)

Before long Evelyn started teaching and between the two of them they were teaching 7 nights a week in different night clubs in the Charleston area.  They have also taught at Kiawah Island Resort, High Cotton, Shem Creek, Wild Dunes, and at Ronnie's with Ronnie Johnson.  They were hired by WEZL to judge a dance contest that lasted for 7 weeks with the winner going to the Bahamas.

To stay current with all of the new dances Evelyn travels to different states for line dance events and instructor’s  workshops. Evelyn started competing in line dance events in 1998, and in 1999, Evelyn won 1st place in her division and brought home her first belt buckle.

Hank & Evelyn teach for two hours every Monday night, and Evelyn has been teaching seniors every Saturday for the past 12 years.  They also dance at convalescent homes, retirement homes, Summerville’s Flowertown Festival, North Charleston Performing Arts, and numerous other festivals in the area.  Just recently, they danced for Cat Country at their annual BBQ pig pickin’ at the Ladson Fairgrounds.  They also dance at wedding receptions, company picnics and family reunions.

They teach the Shag, East Coast Swing, 2 Step, and many more couples’ dances and of course our favorite…the hundreds and hundreds of line dances.  No party is too large or too small… they dance at them all.

Keep your feet happy and dance, dance, dance!!
